The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), Ministry of Industry, held the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding on the “Proactive Market Surveillance” project on 20 July 2026 at Arnoma Grand Bangkok, bringing together 26 Modern Trade operators and the Thai Chamber of Commerce to strengthen Thailand’s quality control ecosystem and screen non-compliant products before they reach consumers.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, along with Mr. Ekaniti Romyanont, Secretary-General of TISI, witnessed the signing.
TOPS was proud to be among the 26 Modern Trade operators taking part, represented by Mrs. Araya Phaoleangtong, Head of Quality Assurance, who joined the MOU Signing ceremony.
Under the MOU, TISI, Modern Trade operators, and the Thai Chamber of Commerce will jointly monitor and inspect products that are illegal or non-compliant with Thai Industrial Standards (TIS) across both physical stores and online channels, exchange knowledge and standards information, develop a notice-and-takedown system for non-compliant products, and build consumer awareness in choosing quality, standard-compliant goods. TISI has also deployed an AI-powered system called “TISI Watch” to inspect products on online platforms, immediately notifying platforms to take down any non-compliant product found. In addition, TISI is connecting an API system with online platforms to verify licensing and standards status before products are listed for sale — cutting off non-compliant goods at the source.
Through this collaboration, TOPS reaffirms its commitment to consumer safety and to upholding product quality standards across every channel, in line with the Ministry of Industry’s vision of building sustainable trust in Thai industrial goods.
