TOPS, under Central Retail, was honoured to welcome Mr Chanthapat Panjananond, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade (DIT), along with a delegation from DIT and media, for an official inspection visit to our TOPS Bang Bua Thong Distribution Centre and TOPS Central WestGate in Nonthaburi Province. The visit aimed to review essential goods stock availability, supply chain resilience, and operational readiness to ensure flood-affected communities maintain uninterrupted access to daily necessities.
The delegation was hosted by key TOPS executives across both operational and retail touchpoints. At the TOPS Bang Bua Thong Distribution Centre, Mr Noppadon Poomanee, Head of Supply Chain at Central Food Retail under Central Retail, hosted the visit to demonstrate the full capabilities of our 43,242-square-metre primary logistics hub. The facility operates 24/7 to manage inbound receiving, storage, picking, inspection, and dispatch across more than 26,000 SKUs.
Meanwhile, at TOPS Central WestGate, Mrs Sujita Phengoun, Chief Operating Officer – Large Format at Central Food Retail under Central Retail, hosted the store visit to highlight front-line retail execution, shelf replenishment, and continuous customer service.
To manage operational challenges during the flood situation and safeguard store operations against future crises, TOPS deploys an operational risk management framework built on 5 key measures. We prioritise 10 essential product categories—including drinking water, eggs, rice, and instant food—and secure over 20 days of reserve stock supported by an Auto-Replenishment System. Logistics continuity is maintained by expanding delivery fleet capacity by 30–50%, leveraging real-time traffic and water level tracking, and shifting to pallet-based deliveries for rapid store restocking. Workforce continuity is ensured through round-the-clock warehouse shifts, temporary crisis personnel, and dedicated transport shuttles for staff in high-water areas. Furthermore, we integrate smart technology such as Dynamic Automated Replenishment and AI-powered route planning to navigate around restricted zones. Operating an hourly War Room allows us to execute early risk assessments and maintain Business Continuity Management (BCM).
Backed by our 4 primary distribution facilities—Bang Bua Thong, Mahachai, Rama 3, and Bangna—TOPS remains steadfast in reinforcing consumer confidence and ensuring widespread, unbroken access to essential goods across all physical and online channels.
